How to make your proposal photoshoot look great!
It’s every photographer’s dream to photograph proposals! It’s the beginning of your love story. Earlier this spring, Cullen contacted me looking for a Toronto proposal photographer to help him capture a very big surprise! It was easy to see how much planning and consideration Cullen had put into each part of the afternoon. From the fantastic planning Cullen did, it is easy to see how to make your proposal photoshoot look great! Here are the three tips I took from this day:
- Special Location: Cullen chose a location in Toronto that is very special to them. He selected Humber Bay bridge for the proposal, because he and Steph regularly return here for their monthly anniversary. After putting a love lock on the Humber Bay bridge, Cullen surprised Steph with one of the sweetest proposals! The week leading up to the proposal, we met for a site visit to confirm the location and timing. I selected a spot that would insure I was incognito, but still able to capture the moment.
- Include your pets in a fun way: Once Steph accepted, we walked towards the beach to capture some portraits where surprise #2 happened – family members met them with their fur babies, who were very appropriately dressed for the occasion. Cullen had planned for their two dogs to be in a matching suit for doggie #1 and a wedding dress for doggie #2. What a cute idea! It makes it all the more special for them to have the other members of their family present for this day.
- The details are everything: Cullen was impressive with all the details he came up with. I was thrilled when he revealed the ring, and the box it came in. Some how he managed to not only find a gorgeous engagement ring to offer Steph, he presented it in the most unique and stunning ring box. With their initials and a heart etched into the side of this beautiful wood box, Cullen succeeded in bringing their spirits to life in these photos!
